Welcome to Ohsabanan!

Museum railway in Småland

Many thanks to everyone who rode with us in 2022! We have lots of exciting plans for 2023,
hope to see you in the new year.
Happy new year 🥳

The Ohsabanan line is a 14.5 km long narrow-gauge railway east of Värnamo. The line and the traffic are run by Ohs Bruks Järnvägs Museiförening and is a non-profit association that was formed on 31 May 1970. The association's purpose is to preserve and operate the line.

Regardless of age or if you like trains, a trip on the Ohsabanan is a fantastic experience for the whole family.
In addition to the train journey, you can play on the playgrounds, have a coffee at café, visit the Museum or explore all our vehicles.

The Ohsabanan line winds its way through the Småland primeval forest past small lakes and meadows. The journey through the scenic landscape is a unique experience that you can only get from the train.

The typical trains of the time are drawn by steam locomotives from the beginning of the 20th century.
The sound as the locomotives fight their way up Sweden's steepest slopes on a railway cannot be described in words but must be experienced!
Diesel locomotives can replace steam locomotives in case of mechanical problems or extremely dry weather due to fire hazard.
